These are the results of some of the people in my online weight loss groups. It amazing how much the accountability to a group paired with an effective diet and exercise plan for weight loss helps people to STAY committed and reach their goals. Angi used 30 minute workouts at home and a nutrition plan that taught her portion control to get her weight loss started. She also replaced 1 meal per day with Shakeology. After 21 days so started using a program that was a blend of Yoga and Pilates to sculpt her muscles. She continued to count her calories and be aware of her nutrition choices. She has not moved on to a program that is a mix of cardio and strength to keep her moving forward.

Angi had every excuse in the book to NOT stick to a healthy lifestyle. She works odd hours as an RN, travels a ton and spends lots of time in bars and restaurants supporting her partner who is a musician. But that hasn’t stopped her from losing 20 pounds over the past few months!

I used 25 minute workouts 6 day per week, counted my calories and replaced 1 meal per day with Shakeology to lose 20 pounds in 3 months! I have since moved on and have completed the 21 day fix (pictures below), Brazil Butt Lift, PiYo and Insanity Max 30.

I work full time, have 3 kids and a husband who works odd hours. But I make the time for myself every day! I have more energy than I have ever had before and feel more confident than I ever thought I could! Now I’m ready to help everyone else feel as amazing as I do.

This is a challenger who wanted to remain nameless but lost 18.5 inches and 11.5 pounds in 3 weeks!! She exercise 30 minutes per day and followed the nutrition plan from the 21 day fix to get these results.  She was prepping for a beach vacation and says she now feels ready to rock her bikini!

Here is Julie’s story.

I had been in a downward spiral since I went back to work after my second child. I had lost most of the baby weight during maternity leave, but when I went back to work, life got hard. I ended up eating my way through it and not taking care of myself at all. Two years after my second child was born, I weighed as much as I did when I was full-term with her. One of my friend’s children asked me if I was having another baby. Yep, it was bad. I wasn’t happy with how I looked or felt, so I didn’t look in the mirror and I wasn’t in tune with how my decisions were affecting my health. When I saw pictures of myself, I was continually surprised with how I looked and very disappointed in myself.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?

I saw a picture of myself from one of my kid’s birthday parties. I didn’t like what I saw, and I knew that I wasn’t setting a good example for my children either. I knew it was time for a change. Whenever I focused on “getting in shape,” I would focus on working out. I would go to the gym a few days for a couple of weeks, but it would quickly taper off. My sister told me about a friend of hers doing a free one-week challenge with a meal plan. I figured why not? There were two things this challenge did that really inspired me to keep going. First, there were other people doing it, and even if I didn’t see them, I knew they were there to keep me accountable. Second, the meal plan that my Coach gave us. It was great! I liked the meals, my husband liked the meals, and my kids sorta liked the meals (they were two and five so it goes with the territory!). This one-week challenge gave me a starting point and inspired me to keep moving forward.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?

I think my biggest challenge was staying consistent and having someone to keep me accountable. I would start a week working out, and then end up working out only one or two days. I would say to myself, “Oh I’ll just start next week,” and then eat horribly over the weekend. The Challenge Groups that I have been a part of and continue to participate in have been key. It is the accountability! My Coach has been great and hosts groups every month. I now join whether or not I have a “busy” month ahead of me. Posting updates daily, and hearing about other people’s struggles and successes keeps me going!

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?

I started with PiYo and that was great, because I was worried about my knees and injuring myself. I really enjoyed Chalene. I could see my strength and flexibility improving. Next, I did 21 Day Fix. I think this was a game-changer for me with the meal plan. I now think in red, green, purple, yellow, blue, and orange. Plus, I enjoy lifting weights, so I got to incorporate a little of that into my weekly routine as well. Finally, 21 Day Fix EXTREME. I will be honest, I was really nervous to go EXTREME. I think my most dramatic results were from the three weeks of 21DFX, and I didn’t injure myself! I really loved the new physical challenges each program gave me

Brandi works full time and has 3 young kids who keep her very busy. She was part of one of my challenge groups where she used 30 minute workouts 6 days per week paired with a fool proof nutrition plan. She was able to lose 4 pounds and 11 inches in 21 days! Brandi says “I really enjoyed the workouts, with the exception of yoga and pilates. I also liked having the food containers….really made me think about how much I was putting in my body each day vs. just grabbing whatever, filling my plate, etc. The best part of the group was the accountability. I had to check in so it made me do the work.”

Janet is an empty nester who works full time. She decided it was finally time to take care of herself and joined one of my online weight loss groups. She chose to alternate between the gym and home workouts 6 days per week to reach her goals. Janet did a great job planning ahead so she could keep her goals in mind even when traveling and attending holiday gatherings and used Shakeology every day. She also benefited from the group atmosphere to check in and stay accountable.

Glitter is perfect for Janet because she is sparkling now! Her confidence has grown and you can see in her face how much more comfortable she feels in her own skin. Janet is also a perfect of example of it NEVER being too late to start working towards your goals.

“Having found you and this group has made such a difference for me. I always envy people when they say that they had an ah ha moment, this or that worked. Well I can honestly say this was mine finally!! I’m feeling better, have more energy and I’m buying smaller clothes yeah. Alison you and the group and the idea it’s ok that I’m finally taking care of me and investing in my health, along with the ease of the plans is what kept and is keeping me going. On to the next 20;)”

“THE GROUP HAS GIVEN ME THE SUPPORT AND ACCOUNTABILITY I NEEDED TO SEE RESULTS. I HAVE UNSUCCESSFULLY TRIED TO DIET PREVIOUSLY, BUT ALWAYS ALONE, WITH ZERO SUPPORT OR FEEDBACK. NO ONE TO ASK QUESTIONS OF. THIS GROUP WAS THE MISSING LINK FOR ME. I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT AND WILL CONTINUE JOINING SIMILAR GROUPS UNTIL I MEET MY GOAL. I LOST 10 POUNDS IN THREE WEEKS, AND I AM NOT READY TO STOP THERE!”

Melissa lost 20 pounds using a cardio kickboxing inspired workout that was 20-60 minutes per day and replaced 1 meal a day with Shakeology. She continues to work hard to continue to lose more weight so she can be active with her daughter.

Melissa is a great example of hard work paying off. This mom who works full time at a desk job woke up early many mornings to get her workout in. The pictures show that her hard work payed off! Look at the difference in in her abdomen, neck and face in only 4 weeks! The other awesome news is that Melissa was able to kick her pop habit to the curb.

Jennifer has been working hard and lost her weight during the HARDEST time of the year!! She works full-time as a RN case manager in a Hospice program which keeps her VERY busy!!! She has 3 kids who are in numerous activities in case she wasn’t busy enough! This woman is the perfect example of belief in yourself. She told me multiple times over the past few months that she was “worth it” and that is why she kept going. Even when it meant working out at 11:30 at night or skipping the cookies in the break room. Here is what Jennifer had to say about the last few months.

“The biggest challenge was just to get started. I have tried many times in the past, but only made it 1-2 weeks, so going for 8 weeks has really been huge for me. I think the other thing that has made a HUGE difference is the change in diet! In the past, I did not pay as strict attention to this and I think that this has made the biggest difference. I have learned moderation and not to eat crap when I am stressed, which has been a behavior for me for as long as I can remember! When I am tempted to have that chocolate covered peanut butter bar, I think about how hard I have worked to lose that pound or inch and grab for water or an apple instead! Shakeology has been another huge factor. In the past, I did not always eat breakfast and now this is my standard. I think it has prevented me from getting colds and I have not had any allergy issues or taken allegra since starting this. My family has been so supportive of me. My husband has lost 15 pounds just by eating healthier! The refrigerator looks so different and I have learned to plan ahead for meals and pack healthy for work everyday. I still have an occasional treat or beer, but now in moderation.”

Here are my results following a program with color coded containers that teach portion control in a fool proof way. I still use the nutrition habits I learned using this program in my daily life. This program is the reason I am able to maintain my weight loss.

This is a challenger who wanted to stay anonymous BUT I had to share her results!

She is an extremely fit mom of 2 who just wanted to push herself more and get a handle on her eating. When she started she told me she “wasn’t sure she needed the group for support” but she’d give it a try. And now that the group is over she has joined another because she was sad it was over. I’d call that a success!

She is proof that these programs can help EVERYONE! No 20 pound weight loss here but LOOK at the difference and even more important is how she feels. Here is what she had to say about the last 3 weeks.

“Prior to the 21 DFX I thought I had a pretty good handle on my exercise and nutrition. However, no matter how much I exercised, my body rarely changed. I found that I was constantly snacking, and choosing a lot of starchy crackers, high sugar yogurts and other empty calories. The 21DFX really helped me to get a handle on what food groups (as well as portions) I should be eating to properly fuel my body. The workouts were challenging, which I was looking for. Gretchen lost 3.93% of her body weight and an amazing 6 inches in only 3 weeks using portion control.
